Craniosacral Therapy is a holistic, somatic practice that can help to relieve stress, release restrictions and bring us closer to physical, emotional and spiritual alignment. It’s a very gentle, profound form of touch therapy that enhances the body’s natural healing abilities.

All sessions, whether your first or twentieth begin with a check-in; for the first one we'll take a bit more time to go into more detail of your health and history, if you feel comfortable sharing. You’ll then lie fully clothed on the treatment table, usually under a blanket and with your head on a pillow. I take up contact at various points on the body, starting with the feet. After settling in, I follow the rhythms of your body and may take up light contact on the cranium (head), the sacrum (tail bone) or any part of the body as appropriate, particularly the heart centre, solar plexus and shoulders. The gentle contact offers a safe environment for the body to express itself and what it needs in that moment; sometimes this can lead to the release of certain restrictions and tensions, often leading to a deep sense of relaxation.
I also include fascial unwinding in my craniosacral practice. This is the process of working with the fascia to facilitate the release of tension and adhesions. When this occurs, it can allow for increased mobility, better brain function and the potential for profound emotional release.
My work is consent led. If you would prefer to work without touch there is always the option to work off of the body. Positions/contacts can easily be adapted for pregnant people, disabled folks or for anyone for any reason.
For some, craniosacral therapy might sound quite abstract. It is ultimately, best experienced by your body.

Every session is different and depends on what your body needs at that moment in time. We take things at your own pace. My job is to facilitate a safe environment for your system to express through motion, stillness, release and reorganisation. Through the process of tuning into the subtle rhythmic motions of your system, this practice can help to identify deeply ingrained patterns and facilitate profound releases. This can look different for everyone, and also varies session to session. Craniosacral therapy can offer a sense of coming home to your body and enhances your ability to heal.

Craniosacral therapy is for everyone. It can treat and support you through physical and emotional pain, chronic illnesses, trauma and stress. The practice stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities and can be helpful in almost any situation, be it; frozen shoulder, back pain, hormonal imbalances, menstrual and reproductive health, migraines and headaches, post viral conditions like long covid, jaw tension/TMJ, depression, anxiety, PTSD, heartbreak, grief, chronic pain, digestive problems, insomnia, lack of energy, stress, nervous system dysregulation, ENT problems, birth trauma or head injuries. Having a session can also be an opportunity to tune in with yourself in a restful and restorative environment. If you're wondering about a certain condition or trauma that isn't mentioned, this isn't an exhaustive list, but please feel free to check with me if you are wondering about something specific!

We recommend anything from once a week to once a month. For more acute conditions once a week is good and for maintenance once or twice a month. It can take a week for a session to fully integrate, that's why we recommend spacing them out like this. As ever, this depends person to person, and will become more clear whilst working together. If you are just visiting and want to book sessions closer together, it is possible and it isn't bad for you— when we are learning we are having multiple sessions a day!

Just something comfortable!

There isn't anything you need to do before a session, but it's good to give yourself some space after one. Where it's not the case for everyone, some people can feel quite tender and sleepy after a session so it's best not to plan to do too much afterwards.

Yes! Craniosacral Therapy is suitable for anyone at any age due to its gentle, relaxing nature. I treat children and adults. If you want to book a session for your child and they are under 16, a parent or guardian will need to be present in the room during the treatment. Cranio sessions can be very helpful for babies too, if you would like a recommendation of someone who specialises in treating babies just get in touch.

If you have health insurance I can provide you with a receipt from the treatment which should be enough proof for your provider to refund the cost of the treatment.
